PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — October 27, 2026. Placer County supervisors approved a nearly $12 million project to widen Sierra College Boulevard and add a traffic signal at Twelve Bridges Drive near Lincoln.

How the project or program works

At present, traffic entering Sierra College Boulevard from Twelve Bridges Drive uses a stop sign. County transportation officials say the intersection meets signal warrants based on peak travel conditions. The funding arrangement involves about $6.86 million from South Placer Regional Transportation Authority, up to $2.32 million from the City of Lincoln and up to $2.82 million in county transportation development fees. Bickford Improvement Company was expected to oversee construction arrangements.

What residents should verify

Approval is not confirmation the traffic signal is operating. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, and actual lane restrictions, road opening dates and final costs may change. The county says the project does not require additional General Fund money.
